I woke up at 3 am to be at the airport by 4am. Waking up after 2 hours of sleep is brutal. Saying goodbye to my parents was weird but it had not hit me that I would be gone for two weeks. The flight to Honduras was very smooth.
Departing from the plane we were greeted with a wave of heat. It was not as bad as I expected but instantly I felt very sticky. Larry the director of the mission on Helene met us at the airport. We got on a small bus and headed to our hotel for the night. The bus ride was fun and everyone was in good spirits.
Our hotel overlooked the ocean. After dinner we went and had a worship session in the Gazebo by the ocean. It rocked. Right after the song “Grace like rain” it started to pour. Now in Oregon we have good rains but this was 10x that. We ran back to our rooms but still got SOAKED. It kept raining it was pretty cool to watch.
It took me awhile to fall asleep as i wondered what the next day would have in store. I knew I should get to sleep thou as I knew that this would be my last night with AC. I prayed that I would serve whole heartily for the next two weeks and then went to bed……
